Mike is a professional photographer with over 30 years experience,
Mike's Love of photography started when he was at school and recalls we always had a camera in the house my mum who was quite artistic was a big influence on developing my creative side and encouraged me to take up art , music and later photography. As I recall the music was always played louder than everything else and it used to drive my dad crazy, as I was always up for a challenge I did it more and more until it drove him completely mad and my mum to total despair he smiles those where the days.
Mike started his professional photographic career as a press photographer for a South African newspaper during the early 80,s and later as a freelance photographer allowing him to develop a creative flair, with a curious, instinctive ,intuitive style of photography and have the ability to adapt to the situation in front of the camera sometimes even under very difficult circumstances.
Mike recalls the first photo equipment he was given at the newspaper A battered Nikon FE 35mm film camera , a 28mm, 50mm ,70-200mm zoom lens, a flash gun, batteries, rolls of black and white film and a box type camera bag The press photographers dream kit he recalls. The box bag was horrendous. I could not get the kit out fast enough because it was a so deep and you would always be tripping over it as it would always be in the way. So I went out and bought a new bag Domke f2 canvas camera bag I still use it today for my camera kit which is essentially the same with exception of a modern Nikon d700 DLSR camera's and a mid length lens
Mike is now situated on the Wirral and serves the greater Liverpool area and beyond
