 THE PERSONA BEHIND THE LENS:

My love of photography started when I was at school.  My mum had a Ziess ion  camera and used to take pictures of all sorts of things and being creative it was not long before I browed the camera and  was taking pictures . Untill she got so fed up I got  my first camera was a Olympus OM10.

My  professional career really started when I worked as a news paper photographer for one of the largest and oldest newspaper groups in South Africa, in the early eighties. Where we used Nikon camera.s FE and F3,s three lenses 28 mm ,50mm and a 70-200mm a flash gun and a horrible camera box bag so I went out and bought a new bag with some of my first wages and promply tossed the old box bag on the chief photographers table and told him I was not using that pice of S&%),I still use Nikon system camera,s to this day. I have a Nikon D810 and aD700 with a16-35mm f4 lens , 24-70mm 2.8 35mm prime1.18 and a 50mm1.8

I have developed my own style over 4 decade,s of photographic experience working as a professional photographer Although I no longer take news or (bang bang) conflict photos. The urban and streets  intrique me to shoot images of the urban envioment.

Although I am retired I am  still working as a    photographer and I am still very active based in Liverpool and beyond

I am still out there continuing to take pictures of society in flux .

Over the years I have developed  a creative, inquisitive and instinctive flair style of photography, which enables me to adapt to the situation in front of the camera. I often shoot images on the fly to capture a image  that tells a story and a makes the viewer react to the image .
